Office for Authorisations for practising activities related to Public Performances Entertainment and Sanctionary activities

This office is responsible for releasing authorisations for public performances and entertainment according to art. 68 of the Public Safety Laws (Testo Unico delle Leggi di Pubblica Sicurezza), which envisages that no performances, entertainment, parties or horse races can be held in public or open to the public or shown to the public. It authorises all those locations with night entertainment offering music and dancing or even simple musical entertainment inside cafes or restaurants.

The office releases authorisations of fitness for cinemas and theatres subject to control on behalf of the Local Watch Committee (Communal or Provincial Commission of vigilance Public Performances and Entertainment), regarding the soundness and safety of the building and the presence of exits fully able to empty the premises in case of fire (art. 80 of the Public Safety Laws).

The opinion of the Communal or Provincial Commission of vigilance Public Performances and Entertainment, cannot be requested directly by the user but only via the pertinent office. Apart from releasing authorisations, the Office has the task of preventing and sanctioning law breaking as well as the incorrect use of authorisations; in particular it sanctions the undue protraction of time limits and excess sound limits permitted by the current laws, the latter citizens maintain being of the utmost importance.
